The Course

Haven’t been scuba diving lately? Feeling a bit rusty? The Express Scuba Skills Refresher is just what you need to brush up on your diving skills. A Scuba Frisco Instructor or Divemaster will get you in the water having fun and feeling comfortable again. It’s quick and easy, and a good way to prepare for your next scuba course or get ready for adventure on a diving vacation.

Requirements

Any certified diver, regardless of certifying agency, who needs a refresher, pre-travel update, pre-assessment for a continuing education course or an upgrade from Junior Diver can complete an Express Scuba Skills Refresher.

*Your certification does not expire. Participation in a Scuba Skills Refresher is not mandatory, but recommended as an easy way to refresh your foundation scuba skills if you haven’t been diving in a while.

The Learning

You’ll go over important dive safety concepts, dive planning essentials and problem management. Your Instructor or Divemaster will have you practice putting your gear together and doing a predive safety check with your buddy. In the water, you’ll review all the basic scuba skills with a focus on good buoyancy control.

Important Medical Form

All student divers are required to complete the Diver Medical Form. Read the form carefully and answer questions honestly. If you can answer "Yes" to question 3, 5, or 10, OR any questions on page 2, then you are required to obtain a physician's release on this form, without restrictions, before participating in the skills refresher in the pool.

The Gear

You’ll use basic scuba gear including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, BCD and a scuba tank. Our staff will explain other equipment you may need to refresh your skills.

The Next Step

Now that you've made the jump back into scuba diving, you may want to expand your diving opportunities even more with the Advanced Open Water Diver course, Rescue Diver course, or a specialty course. Ask your Scuba Frisco instructor or divemaster about the possibilities.
